Maintain your inner light in a very dark time. Do not let your resoluteness be shaken. Do not distinguish yourself with bold behavior. Knowing the source of the darkness, dissociate from it. Don’t struggle with it. Resist, but don’t try to defeat it directly. The dark power is at its zenith and will, in time, depart, as noted yesterday. “Working by heart means using your feelings and emotions to lead you to your spiritual sense of existence.” Yogi Bhajan

Resoluteness sets the stage for a breakthrough. Just as yesterday the reading stated that things must take their course, the overall movement is toward the waning of influence of inferior people. When we worry about a situation where self-serving people have seized power, the source of that concern tends to be an uncertainty about the resoluteness that will be required to break the stranglehold. There are rules for that to happen. Continue reading “Today: The stage is set for a breakthrough – from the I Ching”

Proper development in the established course is important. There is no need to rush it or provoke an outcome. Only perservere.
The text reads:
“…the essential factor is a correct way of development through cultivation of one’s own personality. No influence such as that exerted by agitators has a lasting effect.
Within the personality too, development must follow the same course if lasting results are to be achieved. Gentleness that is adaptable, but at the same time penetrating, is the outer form that should proceed from inner calm.
The very gradualness of the development makes it necessary to have perseverance, for perseverance alone prevents slow progress from dwindling to nothing.”
“We love our discipline more than our own life and deal with the world as a whole. We walk tall and talk tall, as exclusive, straightforward and truthful human beings.” Yogi Bhajan

When you have done what you can, move on. When you find yourself in new and strange situations, be cautious and reserved. Focus on what is close around you. Seek only good places to be and people to associate with. Then you can go your way unmolested and enjoy good fortune.
“God created every individual by its own right. You cannot rule another human being. One of the greatest curses of man is that he wants to rule another human being.” Yogi Bhajan

You can be at odds with those around you. They hold positions just as you do. Rather than proceeding forcefully, which would only widen the gap, an approach to find common ground would be useful and can benefit mutually in small matters. One cannot successfully seek justice alone. It requires a collective, organized effort by people aligned in their needs and goals in order to oppose oppression, injustice and any threat to their wellbeing. Recruiting allies in such an endeavor is like building an army. Continue reading “Today: Recruiting allies – from the I Ching”

Enduring union is characterized by a constant movement and renewal that is not worn down by hindrances, but rather relies on the immutable laws of nature upon which the union is based. Marriage is such a union, with vows that last to the death. The United States is such a union, based on unalienable rights. Continue reading “Today: Enduring union – from the I Ching”
