Meditation: Shuniya Meditations as Taught by Yogi Bhajan, Yoga West, 1994

“Any nervous disorder you can conquer by this exercise”
“I want you to go home just enriched with something.  Not just came to a class and learned something.  No, come to class, be something.  Don’t come here to learn with me.  There are so many people who teach you to learn things.  There is a difference.  Here, you have to be, not to learn.  Learning, go somewhere else”.

Yogi Bhajan came to Yoga West in October-November 1994. He taught a series of classes designed to break the hypnotic trance that locks our psyches in a habitual pattern of perception. Going beyond the familiar forms that limit our perception we can stabilize a state of Shuniya in ourselves that allows us to perceive reality as it is.

Clasp hands at the heart.  Left hand fingers cover right hand.

Chant the mantra Ang Sang Waheguru.  Use the tongue to produce pressure on the upper palate, without touching.  Vibrate the mantra there.  Hold the sound there, feel the resistance, and release it. You will see everything from the inside. 31 min.

Meditation: NM142 19940615 – Bless the Planet Earth and Let the Heavens Descend in You

Bend the left elbow into the side of the body. Bring the forearm up towards the chest as far as it will go, palm facing the body. Then bend the palm back flat on the wrist, so it is parallel to the ceiling. The right arm is extended straight out in front of the body, no bend in the elbow, palm flat and facing the floor. Both the right arm and the left flattened palm should be level with each other. Hold the position.

Eyes: Closed.

Focus: Focus your closed eyes on the top of your skull, the soft spot you had when you were a baby. (The spot you exit through at death.)

Breath: Breathe long, slow and deep and very consciously.

Guru Dev Mata, Guru Dev Pita by Gurujiwan Singh, Wahe Guru Kaur & Sangeet Kaur

Time: 19 minutes.

End: Inhale deeply, hold the breath and make your hands like steel (just the hands from shouders onward), squeeze and tighten them. Bring the spine into the lining. (Hold 25 seconds.) Exhale. Inhale a second time. (Hold 10 seconds.) Exhale. Inhale deep a third time, and this time squeeze the entire body. (Hold 20 seconds.) Exhale and relax.

Comments/Effects: The left hand in this position, represents our initial brain. In this kriya, the posture means, “Initiallly you must hold yourself.” When you read in the Bible, the word ‘Behold,’ it really means ‘hold yourself,’ nothing else. The right extended arm is saying, ‘Your extension must bless.’ When you bless, God shall bless you. That’s the promise.

Technically, make sure the hands remain at the same level, and it will effect you very powerfully.

Bless the planet Earth and let the heavens descend in you.

Lecture:

If we can bring our mind to our stability and meditative Infinity, and we’ll try to relax, and for everything we ask ourself, ”Is it noble?”  ”Is it noble?”  ”Am I noble?”  ”What I am doing is noble?”  ”Is it taking me to nobility?”

Don’t decide what is reality.  Don’t decide what is wrong, don’t decide, don’t judge.  Don’t take the Adam’s guilt and spread it to you and to your generation.  Don’t ruin your seed.

Just ask one word, “My beautiful, bountiful, blissful God has made to me, find my nobility.”  And use your all ability to find your nobility.  You’ll be shocked!  You will realize that we have a companionship with God and moment you realize there is a companionship between you and God, and it becomes real to you, it’s very, very, very bewitching.

Because what all is outside of you, it is also inside you.  Things you can say and things you can do may not mean anything.  But things you can project and reflect may affect all the universe.

The knowledge, the courage, the character, the conception which you have, that is beyond Divinity.  God seeks the company of such men and woman who have achieved that being defined, has found Infinity.

Nanak das door mangay

Nanak asked the dust of the lotus feet of those who repeat the grace, the glory, and makes others to do the same.

Because there is nothing which can limit you and there is nothing which you cannot have because God is Infinity and you are finite.  And when your finite is confined within your finite, you have already closed all doors to opportunity and ecstasy.  But the moment you open up to Infinity, you become Infinity.  And this is what Age of Aquarius is.  You all shall die in vain and insane, as Pisceans, if you do not enter in the Age of Aquarius with width, with vastness, with openness.

You have to be vast, open, noble, courageous, selfless.  You have to stop having vengeance with your own self.  Limiting your own self is a very vengeful act.

So let us see tonight what we can do.  It’s a very special sacred kriya. It’s called “Shunya Kaal Karni Kriya.”

Meditation: TCH2012 960727 – Warrior’s Exercise for Opening the Energy into the Shushmana & Balancing the Hemispheres of the Brain

Yogi Bhajan – TCH2012 960727 – Warrior’s Exercise for Opening the Energy into the Shushmana & Balancing the Hemispheres of the Brain

Warm-ups: Sit with a straight spine, and extend your arms out to the sides, parallel to the ground. Begin wiggling the fingers, twisting the hands, bending the arms, stretching the elbows, for a few minutes before you begin. This is an important part of this exercise. Time for warm-ups: just a minute or so.

 Dhuni

TCH2012-01Mudra: Stretch your arms out to the sides, parallel to the ground. Make your palms flat, facing forward, and the fingers spread wide apart. Come to a balance in this position. The muscles of the body should hold the weight of the arms, to perform the exercise. This position is your base.

TCH2012-02Cross hands a few inches behind the head and then back to sides, 4x, elbows straight (sat nam sat nam sat nam ji).  Alternate right hand in front of left, then left in front.

Cross Hands at wrists about 12 inches in front of Head and then back to sides, 4x, elbows
Alternate right hand in front of left, the left in front (waheguru waheguru waheguru ji)

Eyes are closed.

Continue in this fashion 3 min to (unspecified).  3 min is enough to introduce the meditation without spacing out too much.

Comments/Effects: This is a warrior‟s exercise, and can call upon a lot of inner strength and determination. The warm-ups are an essential part of this meditation; sometimes the nerves, muscles & bones get locked up, and the warm-ups will help loosen them. Without that, you may experience muscle pain the next day.

In the starting position, keep the arms in balance, letting the weight of the arms be held up by the muscles of the body (as opposed to the muscles of the arms doing all the work). This will cause a movement in the central nerve, the „shushmana‟, in the inner spinal chord. If held in the proper position, you will begin to feel a tingling of energy.

Yogi Bhajan refers to the behind the head position as your “Sat Nam,” and he calls it your original “Oriental Self,” your earth, your spine.

He refers to the front of head position as your “Wahe Guru,” your God, your front face. “There are only two things on this planet — “Sat Nam” is your back; “Wahe Guru” is your front.”

Remember, angle is very important in Kundalini Yoga. Kundalini Yoga is a series of angles, triangles, which cut the squares. They say in astrology when you have a “square,” it means trouble. Kundalini Yoga deals with angles to diagonally cut the squares, which means cutting the bad luck.

After a few minutes of practice, you‟ll reach a stage called, “The Twilight Zone,” and then there‟ll be huge pain. You will feel you are hurting, because the hemispheres of the brain have to adjust; but soon the endorphins will be released, and you won‟t want to stop. That‟s how it will be if we keep on doing it.

Meditation: NM335 – A00111 Connect Up to Infinity

NM335When you feel superior you bore everybody with yourself—a lot of air with no purpose. All our problems—jealousy, insecurity, fears and mistrust, come from our inferiority complex. People have problems because they cannot connect up to Infinity. Society does not trust a yo-yo. Show your worth, and prove that you are trust worthy. Wherever you go, your reputation goes ahead of you. In life, to be worthy, you should be trustworthy to the entire universe. Professionally you are getting ready for the Aquarian Age. I hope you will not let down the global consciousness. You are needed by the world now.

NM335 – Class audio

1. Sit straight in a cross-legged position. The right hand is held up beside the right shoulder with the elbow relaxed down. Lock the first two fingers close together pointing upwards, and use the thumb to hold the other two. The left hand rests on your heart. Eyes are closed.

Sing from the navel Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo by Nirinjan Kaur. Continue for 31 minutes.

Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo – Nirinjan Kaur

Inhale deeply, hold, exhale like cannon fire through the nostrils. Repeat 2 more times.

2. Same posture but switch hands. Chant from the navel Wahe Guru, Wahe Jio by Sangeet Kaur and Harjinder Singh (from Raga Sadhana).

Wahe Guru Wahe Jio – Sangeet Kaur
Continue for 11 minutes divided in three parts: first part loudly, second part whispering, last part in deep silence. “In silence you speak in yourself and you must hear by your ears. God will give you the power to hear the unknown sounds of the world—you can talk with birds and animals and humans alike.”

3. Same posture. Chant from the navel Sat Narayan by Jasbir Kaur.

Sat Narayan – Jasbir Kaur

After 2 minutes bring the hands in prayer mudra in front of your chest. Continue chanting as you press the hands together for another 2 minutes.

4. Chant 5 times from the navel Har Har Har Har Gobinde by Nirinjan Kaur.

Har Har Har Har Gobinde – Nirinjan Kaur

To end, inhale, exhale, relax.

Meditation: LA088 790222 Egyptian Meditation

Sit in easy pose.  Extend the forearms straight out in front of the body with the elbows bent. Raise the forearms up and in toward the chest until they are pointing up at the ceiling and close the hands into fists with the thumbs pointing up. Now firmly press the forearms together from the bottoms of the elbows to the tops of the fists. Lock the thumbs in place and hold them very stiffly. This will probably become a very uncomfortable arm position. Just go through the pain and don’t give an inch.

Eyes are 9/10 closed, looking at the tip of the nose.

Deeply inhale in a long slow breath. Hold the breath in as long as is possible. Totally exhale in a long slow breath. Hold the breath out as long as is possible.

Silently vibrate the mantra AAD SACH, JUGAAD SACH, HAIBHEE SACH, NAANAK H0SEE BHEE SACH

Begin by practicing from 5-11 minutes and slowly build to 30 minutes.

Egyptians used to do this meditation for supernatural powers. These are very secret sacred teachings. Some of you, out of sheer devotion and love may pick them up and master them.Your elbows will like to separate, your thumbs will like to be loose, your breath will like to revolt, and you are going to fight against all odds.

Meditation: Sedona 2005 Retreat Sadhana – 20050902

In September, 2005, we attended a Sat Nam Rasayan retreat in Sedona with Guru Dev Singh.  At sadhana, we performed a series of kriyas originally taught by Yogi Bhajan.

1. For central nerve – Jupiter & Saturn fingers point up together at sides, thumb on Sun. Eyes closed, tip of chin. Tongue out as far as it will go. Inhale and exhale through the mouth. 11 min.

2. For Lymphatic System – Hands clasped out in front. Roll the shoulders forward and up, then backwards and down. Bring hands in as you exhale, out as you inhale. Eyes closed, tip of chin. 11 min.

3. For the brain – Hold finger tips together in front. Roll the wrists forward while bringing elbows out. Roll back to start, then repeat motion. Wiggle the toes while you do this. Eyes closed, tip of chin. 3 min.

4. For the heart and lungs – Fly. Extend the arms out to the sides and move them up and down as if flying. Feel the sensation of flying. 5 min.

5. Left hand over right, with 4 in. of separation, at heart level. Drop both hands together then bring them up. Drop just the right hand and bring it up. Make the movements precise with no extraneous movement. 11 min.
Good for the nervous system and brain function.

6. Arms straight out in front, palms together, right thumb over left.
Sing Wah Yantee. 11 min.

7. Clap hands at heart and then overhead. Sing Sa Re Sa Sa. 1 min.

8. Clasp hands together upward and outward and to the left, tightening and shaking them.  Repeat to the right.  Alternate.  Like champions 1 min.

are closed. Chant from the navel in a monotone, “God and me, me and God, are one.” Continue for 3 minutes. To end,

Kindness is the most powerful thing on this planet.  When you are kind in character God serves you.  “In God I dwell” means nothing but kindness, consciousness, and sweetness towards people.  When you see God in all, you see all that God is. But if you cannot see God in all, you cannot see God at all!

Lecture
You come to Summer Solstice to recharge your batteries, increase endurance
and develop courage. Psychologically, sociologically and energetically we do  not let you rest. The food and way of life are precise. You are like a bullet put
into a double-barreled gun and fired.

Tomorrow yogic knowledge will be needed by the world at large. A good yoga teacher will earn $4,000 to $5,000 per month, provided they work it like a business and stay clear of ego. Some teach out of ego, and some become teachers to serve, pass on the message and uplift other human beings. Drop your fears and neuroses and rise like the phoenix rises out of the ashes! You have to lead and help six billion people! You have the basic training to inter-bifurcate the micro consciousness into the macro consciousness of a person and change their frequency so that their magnetic field is relevant to the magnetic force of the heavens unto the sun and the reflection of the moon.

When we bow to the Siri Guru Granth Sahib, we actually bow to our understanding that this scripture is a permutation and combination of molecular changes into the magnetic projection of the human, in a musical note, and it can never change. Many scriptures may have tons and tons of wisdom, but they are not in the music of time and space according to longitude and latitude. It affects your attitude, pulls you out of solitude and makes you deal with the world as a pleasant human being. An angel has an angle to be pleasant. A human has an angle to be rational. A beast has a power to strike head-on, no matter what happens. Talk irrationally to someone sometime, and see how sad you make that person. Meet your enemy sometime, and talk pleasantly. See how wonderful he feels.

When I love somebody, | yell and scream to test out his psyche. First the guy feels that something horrible has happened. When he starts thinking it must have a purpose, | start smiling, because the program is over. It is a test
of the person’s endurance—how calamity affects the psyche and how well they can project to defend and be clean. Kundalini Yoga was originally developed as the science that teaches us to absorb the shock of adversity and come out with grace and the wonder of life. It taps the reserve serpent power within us, so we may go through anything and still look great.

Life is plus and minus, but for some, 2+2=5. They add in smiles, warmth, love and passion. They say “Hello” and go one step further to meet and shake hands. Kindness is the most powerful thing on this planet. You are
man-“kind”! When you are kind in character God serves you. “In God | dwell” means being full of nothing but kindness, consciousness and sweetness towards people. When you see God in all, you see all that God is. But if you cannot see God in all, you cannot see God at all! Become simple, kind teachers. Things will be done for you, and things will come, not to you, but to the kindness in you. Make a sincere promise that you will shine, and all your problems will be taken care of.

Keep up and share the praises of the Lord with each other. Do not be fanatic or lazy, egocentric or crazy. Just be. Learn to tolerate criticism and abusiveness. That is why God brought you here, to give you an experience,
and touch you.

Meditation: LA004 780109 Experience the Experience

Yogi Bhajan – LA004 – January 9, 1978

LA004-780109-1

Experience your existence directly.  Feel from where the feeling comes.  Quiet the subconscious.  Assume the posture and mudra shown.  Keep straight and still.  Contemplate the mind.  Allow every part of your experience.  Don’t reject any part of your experience.  Don’t judge your experience.  There is no incorrect experience.  Long deep breathing, eyes 9/10 closed, looking at the tip of the nose.  11 min.

Meditation: 881026 Removing Fear of the Future

881026-RemovingFearOfTheFuture-01

Link to Library of Teachings

1. Sit comfortably in easy pose. Rest the back of the left hand in the palm of the right hand. The right thumb nestles in the palm of the left hand and the left thumb crosses it. The fingers of the right hand curve around the outside of the left hand and hold it gently. Holding your hands in this way will give you a peaceful, secure feeling.

Put this mudra at your heart center with the palm-side resting against your chest. Meditate to your favorite version of “Dhan, Dhan, Ram Das Gur. “Start with 11 minutes and slowly and gradually work up to 31 minutes of practice time.

881026-RemovingFearOfTheFuture-02

To finish: inhale deeply and relax. This meditation takes away your fears of the future which have been created by your subconscious memories of the past. It will force you to deal with your heart center.

The beauty in you is your spirit. The strength in you is your endurance. The intelligence in you is your vastness. y.b.

The crossed thumbs help neutralize your mind’s frantic calculation to avoid fear and pain. It is the calculations themselves that produce anxiety and get you out of touch with the resources of your intuition and heart.

Meditation: LA093-790319 – Pranic Energy – the Earth Element Balanced by Ether

Yogi Bhajan – LA093 – March 19, 1979

Sit in easy pose with a straight spine.

Raise the arms with the elbows bent until the hands meet at the level of the chest. The forearms form a straight line parallel to the floor.
The palms face each other and the tips of the thumbs press against the mounds at the base of the mercury finger (pinky). The fingers point up and are extended and joined. Press the fingers of opposite hands together from the fingertips to the first knuckle. The thumb knuckles also press together. Press hard.

The knuckles will hurt, but it will give you a kind of joy and satisfaction.

Sit with the legs crossed or in a chair with the weight of both feet equally distributed on the ground.
Breath:
Inhale in eight equal sniffs, exhale completely through the mouth.

Close the eyes nine-tenths, and look at the tip of the nose.

When exhaling through the mouth, gently purse the lips almost as in a whistle.
Mantra:
There is no mantra for this meditation.
In a class, the leader of the meditation can chant ONG ONG ONG ONG ONG ONG ONG ONG on the eight-stroke inhale.

Practice this kriya for 11 minutes only.

Comments:
If all you understand is dollars, this is a million-dollar therapy. If the earth element in you is strong, and is not balanced out by the ether, you’ll be stuck here. You don’t belong to this earth anyway. You’ve got to go and you’ve got to know where to go and what to do. My idea about going is going with grace. It requires a little bit of work, a little bit of sacrifice, and a little bit of understanding that I AM, I am, my mind is my mind.
